Julie Louise Bacon is an artist, curator and writer, whose research focuses on the relationship between: aesthetics and politics, art and philosophy, technology and consciousness, mythologies and archiving. Her recent projects include: the video installation Double Fountain [After a water clock design by the Arab engineer al-Jazari 1136-1206], a collaboration with James Geurts, South Battery Pier, Halifax waterfront, Photopolis 2011; the performance Performing Knowledge as Landscape in Mix, Jerusalem (2011); the video and sculptural installation STOCK in 3x3x3 (Eyelevel Gallery, Halifax, 2011); curation of the symposium The Clearing (London 2010), and editorship of the anthology Arkive City (Interface: Belfast, 2008).
