PROJECT 16
Chuyia Chia and Joakim Stampe
For Project 16 we performed 16 actions each over the course of 16 days: 30 actions in Malmo and 2 actions in Copenhagen. Each action lasted between 20-45 minutes.
For 16 days we slept in the back room of the gallery, cooked food in the gallery’s basement, and worked in the space of the gallery and the street in front of it. The door stood wide open for anything that found its way into the space: window cleaners, snow, passing, school children, old men. Our aim was to work responsively with an unpredictable set of materials and ideas. Each day we re-worked the thoughts and threads of ideas spun the day before, and the day before, and the day before. Over the course of the 16 days our accumulated materials were displayed on the gallery wall, forming a giant performance art palette.
